Imran Ismail Criticizes Maryam Nawaz and Questions ECP Impartiality; IPP Denounces PTI Intra-Party Polls

Imran Ismail criticized Maryam Nawaz for her stance on ensuring a fair electoral environment, alleging that the Chief Election Commissioner of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) appears to favor a specific political party. During a press conference in Karachi, Ismail emphasized that the ECP CEC seemed inclined towards facilitating the success of a particular party in the upcoming elections.

Ismail stated, "We won't succumb to the influence of any political figures," asserting his commitment to maintaining a level playing field. He also took a dig at the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), claiming that the delimitation process was influenced by the PPP's preferences.

Additionally, Ismail extended his congratulations to the people of Sindh on Sindhi Cultural Day and welcomed new members to the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP). Former MNA Saima Naeem was appointed as the women's wing president, while Feroze Sheikh became the senior vice president of the Sindh chapter.

The IPP also criticized the intra-party polls conducted by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Firdous, expressing her concerns, hoped that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) would address the issues related to the PTI's intra-party polls. She labeled these polls as unconstitutional and urged the ECP to take strict action against the PTI.

Firdous specifically criticized the appointment of Barrister Gohar Ali Khan as the PTI chairman, stating that it was contrary to the party's manifesto and democratic traditions. She emphasized that the so-called PTI intra-party polls reflected a form of dictatorship and were unacceptable.
