The long-awaited 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser brings several notable changes over its predecessor. Unlike the previous generation's naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V8 engine, reports suggest that the latest model will feature a turbocharged and hybrid-assisted 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. This new engine delivers 326 horsepower and 630 Nm of torque, beating the old V8's 381 hp and 543 Nm.
With dimensions of 193.7 inches long and a wheelbase of 112.2 inches, the new Land Cruiser measures 84.2 inches wide (including mirrors) and 73.2 inches high.
In terms of fuel efficiency, Toyota estimates a significant improvement, with the latest Land Cruiser achieving a combined fuel economy of 27 miles per gallon, compared to the previous model's combined rating of just 14 mpg.

It uses the TNGA-F body-on-frame platform and features a full-time four-wheel drive system and an eight-speed automatic gearbox with a two-speed transfer case. Additional off-road upgrades include an automatic limited-slip center differential, a locking rear differential, crawl control for off-road travel, and downhill assist control for descending grades. The Multi-Terrain Select system allows drivers to adjust transmission settings for different conditions such as mud, rocks, and sand. Higher trim levels have a multi-terrain monitor that provides images of the front, bottom, and sides of the vehicle.
The interior of the new Land Cruiser offers plenty of amenities, even in the base 1958 trim, with features like heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, an 8.0-inch infotainment screen, and a six-speaker stereo. All Land Cruisers are equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 package, which includes a pre-collision system, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and traffic sign recognition.
While Toyota didn't reveal full pricing details, the company indicated during its August debut that the starting price is expected to be in the mid-$50,000s.
