Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has said that Israel is trying to make the conflict with Iran worse, hoping to pull the United States into a full war.
During a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Saturday, the crown prince expressed hope that Iran would respond wisely and stop Israel’s plan from working.
“Today, the entire Islamic world supports you in unison,” Mohammed bin Salman told President Pezeshkian.
Iran’s Efforts for Peace
President Pezeshkian said that since taking office, he has tried to build peace, security, and stability in the region. However, he claimed Israel had tried to block these efforts each time progress was made.
He also said he hopes that Iran and Saudi Arabia can work together to bring calm to the region.
Recent Strikes Between Israel and Iran
The Israeli military launched attacks on Iranian targets overnight on Friday. These included:
- Air defense systems
- Nuclear energy sites
- High-ranking Iranian military officials
In response, Iran carried out missile strikes on Israel, hitting areas in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Iranian leaders stated that these strikes will continue as long as needed.
U.S. Not Involved
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio clarified that the United States was not involved in the Israeli strikes on Iran.
