Former US President Donald Trump has warned Iran that it would face the full power of the US military if it launched any attack on the United States. He clearly stated that Washington had no role in Israel’s recent strikes on Iran’s nuclear and military facilities.
Israel’s military operation, which began early Friday, targeted Iranian nuclear and military sites. Dozens of people were killed, including senior military officers and atomic scientists, according to Iranian officials.
Over the weekend, the conflict intensified as Iran and Israel exchanged fresh attacks. In Israel, rescue teams searched through destroyed buildings using flashlights and sniffer dogs. Authorities confirmed that at least seven people were killed, including children.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country would strike “every target of the ayatollah regime.” In retaliation, Iran launched a deadly missile barrage into Israeli territory.
Netanyahu warned that the attacks so far were only the beginning, saying Iran would face much stronger action in the coming days.
On Sunday, Trump posted on his Truth Social platform, stating, “The United States had nothing to do with the attack on Iran tonight.”
He added, “If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the US Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before.”
Trump also expressed hope for peace, saying, “We can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict.”
Earlier on Friday, he urged Iran to make a deal, warning that otherwise, “even more brutal” attacks by Israel could follow.
During his presidency, Trump had withdrawn from the 2015 nuclear deal and reimposed strict sanctions on Iran in 2018.
Now, following the recent Israeli strikes, Iran has suspended nuclear talks that Washington had considered crucial for reducing tensions.
