U.S. President Donald Trump has offered to assist India and Pakistan in finding a resolution to their long-standing Kashmir dispute after the two countries agreed to a ceasefire.
In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump expressed his willingness to work with both nations to bring about a solution to the Kashmir conflict, which he described as "unresolved for a thousand years." He also commended the leadership of both India and Pakistan for their decision to halt military escalation. "I am very proud of the strong and resolute leadership of India and Pakistan for having the strength, wisdom, and determination to recognize that it was time to end the current aggression, which could have resulted in the death and destruction of millions of innocent lives," he wrote.
Trump further noted that the United States had played a role in facilitating the ceasefire between the two nations. He also revealed plans to significantly enhance trade relations with both India and Pakistan.
This marked Trump’s second post in just a few hours praising the ceasefire, which came after a series of military strikes and counter-strikes along the India-Pakistan border.
