Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal General Asim Munir performed Umrah in Mecca during their official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, coinciding with the blessed days of Hajj.
Pakistan’s top civil-military leadership, accompanied by a high-level delegation, visited the Kingdom upon the invitation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Key members of the delegation included Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar.
In a special gesture of honor, the doors of the Holy Kaaba were opened exclusively for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir. Inside the sacred site, they offered Nawafil prayers and expressed gratitude to Allah SWT. They also made heartfelt prayers for peace, unity of the Muslim Ummah, and support for oppressed people in Gaza and Kashmir.
Warm Reception in Jeddah
Upon arrival in Jeddah, the Prime Minister was warmly received by Governor of Jeddah Prince Saud bin Abdullah Jalawi, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq, and other senior diplomatic officials.
Key Meeting with Saudi Crown Prince
A high-level meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is scheduled during the visit. The talks will focus on:
- Enhancing bilateral trade and investment
- Promoting welfare of the Muslim Ummah
- Strengthening regional peace and security
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is also expected to express appreciation to the Saudi leadership for their constructive role in de-escalating recent tensions between Pakistan and India.
