Terrorism, Imran Khan,

ISLAMABAD - Police in Pakistan's capital on Sunday filed charges of terrorism against former Prime Minister Imran Khan, 17 of his associates, and several supporters, accusing them of terrorism and several other crimes. At the same time, the previous followers of the ousted prime minister clashed with the security forces in Islamabad.

On Saturday, Khan's followers scuffled with police near the Court where the former prime minister was scheduled to appear in a corruption case. Riot police baton-charged and fired tear gas, while Khan's supporters hurled firebombs and pelted stones at officers.

More than 50 officials were injured and at a police post, several cars and motorcycles were torched. Police said a number of supporters of Khan were arrested during the clash.

Khan never appeared in court to face allegations that he sold official gifts and hid assets in office.

Apart from Khan, the case filed on Sunday also indicts former and current legislators, former ministers, the former speaker of the National Assembly, and several of Khan's supporters.
