Biggest events on the motorsport calendar in 2023.

With a new year upon us, here are some of the key motor racing events from across the globe to look forward to in 2023.

Rally Monte Carlo: 22nd January

In what is traditionally the event that kicks off the world motorsport calendar, Rally Monte Carlo starts slightly later this year.

Last year saw the introduction of the hybrid WRC cars, and this year they returned with the three manufacturers: Ford, Toyota, and Hyundai.


2022 overall winner Sebastian Loeb will not be returning to the event this year, so there is set to be someone else who takes the crown.
Most important appointments in the motor world 2023

24 Hours of Daytona - 28th-29th January

Also known as the Rolex 24, this is one of endurance racing's toughest events and serves as the curtain-raiser to the IMSA SportsCar Championship.

Racing stars such as Scott Dixon, Colton Herta, Sebastien Bourdais, Helio Castroneves, Simon Pagenaud, Brendon Hartley, and Rinus Veekay will all be taking part, across various historical teams such as Porsche, Cadillac, Andretti, and BMW.

Formula E Hyderabad - 11th February

Formula E will go to India for the first time in 2023 at the all-new Hyderabad street circuit.

The championship was brought to the country to promote electric mobility solutions, which it looks set to do in one of the most well-populated urban areas.

With the introduction of the Gen3 cars, it looks set to be a highly competitive season.

Daytona 500 - 19th February

The Daytona 500 marks the start of the NASCAR Cup Series in 2023 at the famous speedway in Florida.

It will be the 65h running of the event, with seven-time champion Jimmy Johnson set to make a return for a one-off race.

Bahrain Grand Prix: 3rd - 5th March

The 2023 F1 season is set to be one of the longest in the championships' 70-year history.

Although the Bahrain Grand Prix is not in itself billed as a blue ribbon event, it is the first time we see all of the cars in action in race trim. After several hours of testing, we finally get to see who has produced the quickest car and who will be playing catch-up early on. You will not want to miss the start of this season.

Monaco Grand Prix: 26th - 28th May

The Monaco Grand Prix returns for the 80th running in 2023.

Last year Charles Leclerc grabbed the pole position, but a mistimed pit stop led to him losing the race to Sergio Perez.

Will the Monegasque finally take victory at his childhood home? It looks set to be another classic.

Indy 500: 28th May

The traditional Monaco GP and Indy 500 calendar clash are back for 2023.

Fans can watch the race in Monaco and then immediately after the switch to Indianapolis, to watch 33 drivers try to win one of the motorsports triple crown events.

Former F1 driver Marcus Ericsson will be looking to defend his crown.

Le Mans 24 Hours: 10th - 11th June

This year will mark a century of one of the most famous races in the history of motorsport.

The 2023 race at Le Mans sees Ferrari return for the first time since 1965, while Peugeot also comes back to the contest with the outright win along with Porsche, Cadillac, BMW, and Toyota in the Hypercar class.

Thankfully this event does not clash with any of the races on the F1 calendar, so motorsport fans can keep their weekend open for this classic.

Bathurst 1000: 5th - 8th October

It is the 60th Anniversary of the famous Bathurst 1000 taking place at Mount Panorama, as part of the Australian Supercars championship.

It will be the first time the Gen3 Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro have raced at the event, introduced at the start of 2023.

Shane van Gisbergen and Garth Tander claimed the 2022 win and will be looking to defend their crown to become the first pair since Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes to be known as 'Kings of the Mountain' in successive years.

Las Vegas Grand Prix: 16th - 18th November

It has been billed as one of the most spectacular backdrops for an F1 Grand Prix, as the cars will race through the famous Las Vegas Strip in Nevada.

Tickets will be pricey, some are going in the region of between $1 million and $5 million!

It will also be the first time that an F1 race is held on a Saturday night rather than Sunday. You probably don't want to miss this end-of-season thriller.
