Two US F-16 fighter jets made an emergency landing at Miyako-Shimojishima Airport in Japan's Okinawa Prefecture on Saturday after one of the planes developed engine trouble.
A Japanese news agency reported that engine problems occurred when the jet was 60 kilometers (37 miles) south of Japan's Miyako Island.
No civilian flights were affected or delayed, the report said, adding that the US military was repairing one of the fighters.
