 Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Japan on the afternoon of the 20th. On the 21st, I participated face-to-face at the G7 Summit, which is being held in Hiroshima City, and attended the "Peace and Stability Summit" with the G7 leaders and the leaders of the emerging and developing countries of the "Global South" who were invited to the summit. He also attended meetings related to showing off your solidarity with the G7 and calling for continued and strengthened support. It is also aimed at checking Russia's continued invasion of Ukraine and giving impetus to the success of the reversal offensive that is expected in the near future.

 It will be Zelensky's first visit to Japan since the Emperor's enthronement ceremony in October 2019 and the first since Russia's invasion in 2022. After arriving in Hiroshima, Zelensky tweeted that he would be holding "important meetings with Ukrainian partners and friends." “We will strengthen cooperation for our victory. Peace will come closer,” he said.

 Zelensky is expected to hold a separate meeting with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in Hiroshima, as well as direct talks with U.S. President Biden and other G7 leaders. In addition to expressing gratitude for the strengthening of sanctions against Russia, it is expected that Ukraine will seek in-depth cooperation regarding the provision of US-made F-16 fighter jets, which Ukraine has strongly requested.
