The cold wave is expected to weaken starting next week in Karachi

Meteorologist Jawad Memon anticipates a reduction in the prevailing chilly weather in Karachi starting December 25, with temperatures expected to range between 12-14°C at night and 28-29°C during the day. Drizzling is likely in certain parts of the city over the next few days. However, Memon warns of a return of biting cold in early January 2024.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department's (PMD) daily weather report forecasts mainly cold and dry weather in most areas, with partly cloudy conditions in the upper regions on Saturday. Light rain is expected in isolated locations such as the Pothohar region, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and nearby hilly areas, with light snowfall over mountains. The Met Office also warns of persistent smog in the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh.
