The Pakistani ship 'SIBI' arrived at Haldia Port in India on Tuesday. It carried 26,000 tonnes of coal from China.
This ship belongs to the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC). It reached the port near Kolkata on Monday.
The coal delivery happened even though there is tension between Pakistan and India after a recent event in Pahalgam.
Sources say the ship was chartered by a Chinese company. A PNSC spokesperson explained that the shipping contract was signed before the current conflict. It is part of a legal trade agreement.
He also said that the Indo-Pak Maritime Protocol allows ships from both countries to visit each other’s ports.
The spokesperson added that the PNSC follows all rules and directions from the Government of Pakistan.
