Sindh Healthcare Commission Shuts Down 10 Illegal Beauty Clinics

The Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) has taken strict action against unlicensed beauty clinics in Karachi, sealing 10 more illegal facilities in different areas of Defence Housing Authority (DHA). The crackdown targeted clinics offering unauthorized cosmetic treatments, including Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy and mesotherapy, without qualified dermatologists.

Key Findings During the Raid

  • A large clinic on Khayaban-e-Ittihad, previously sealed, was found operating again after staff broke the locks. Authorities shut it down a second time and evacuated the premises.
  • In Phase VII, a beauty salon was caught performing PRP treatments with untrained staff.
  • In Phase II, a clinic run by a BA Sociology graduate had reopened despite earlier closure orders. The owner was warned a month ago to remove equipment and vacate the property.
  • 'Aesthetic Solutions' in Badr Commercial, Phase V, managed by a midwife, was also sealed.
  • Inspectors found a physiotherapist illegally performing PRP treatments at Rajput Clinic, along with another center run by unqualified staff. Both were closed immediately.

Officials Leading the Operation

The raid was conducted by:

  • Dr. Razia (SHCC Assistant Director, Anti-Quackery Karachi)
  • Ahmar Abbas Saldera (Deputy Director)
  • Moez Qureshi & Farheen Lashari (Assistant Directors)

SHCC's Warning Against Fake Practitioners

The commission warned that some registered doctors are supporting illegal clinics by misusing their medical degrees. The SHCC vowed to continue strict action against all violators to ensure public safety.
