Karachi: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain and thunderstorm activity in Karachi this Sunday.
According to a PMD spokesperson, the city's weather will remain mostly cloudy, increasing the chances of rainfall. “There are strong chances of thunderstorm activity in Karachi on Sunday,” the official said.
Meteorologists explained that strong monsoon winds are continuously entering different parts of Sindh, bringing rain to several areas across the province.

- Heavy to moderate showers: Ghotki, Khairpur, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Tharparkar, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Matiari, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Naushero Feroze, and Larkana
- Intermittent rainfall: Qambar Shahdadkot
- Light to moderate rain: Jamshoro district
Urban Flooding Alert
The PMD has issued a warning for possible urban flooding in low-lying areas of rural Sindh due to ongoing heavy rainfall.
The alert also highlighted the risk of damage to mud houses, electric poles, vehicles, and solar panels because of the strong weather conditions.
